Richard and Kathy's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Canucker_in_Belize: Unfortunately, the entire area around the cache has been logged and is a shell of it's former beautiful self. There is nowhere within the parameters of caching guidelines to replace the cache and reactivate the page. Hence, I am forced to archive this cache. But stayed tuned; the cache container is alive and well and I am in the process of locating another suitable location for it. Stand by...

Geocache Description:

This past summer, as our family of five travelled across country we met a lovely, retired couple while camping in Nova Scotia... Richard and Kathy.  And while we are diametrically opposite in form and function (Richard and Kathy are full time RV people who have no agenda or deadline and can go where and when they please, while we are a busy working couple with kids who squeeze in holidays when we can), we endeared ourselves to them and they to us.

In the short couple of days we camped beside each other we enjoyed company, shared meals and laughed a lot.  Unfortunately, we had to leave them as we still had the world to see and only five weeks left to do it.  So we said goodbye.

Imagine our surprise when we met up with them again at another campground on Prince Edward Island.  And that there are numerous caches in and around the campground.  And that Richard and Kathy enjoy caching as well.  Richard then showed me a cache he had put together with the intention of placing it somewhere.  However, it is near impossible to maintain a cache when one never knows what state or province will be called home in any particular week.  Hence, he had been carrying his cache around for awhile not knowing what to do.  Until we came along.

So, in honour of our friends from back East we have placed their cache near our hometown so that we can encourage Richard and Kathy to visit us out West someday.

The cache is an ammo can placed a short walk off of Bear Creek Rd.  We stopped here today while searching for the perfect Christmas tree.  Made a fire, roasted marshmallows, wieners, drank hot chocolate... Stuff full-timers would appreciate.

Note:  the cache is not winter friendly so you better hop to it before the snow flies.
