12/12/12
-------------
12/12/12 is the last date of the 21st century where the day, month and year all have the same two numbers at the end. The next time a date like this occurs will be on the 1st of the 1st 2101, in the 22nd century.
The above co-ordinates are for the turning to the Wet Meadow car park, a good starting point for your walk.
If you are starting at Wet Meadow car park, then getting to the cache and back should take around half an hour.
You do not need to leave your computer to find out the whereabouts of this cache but you will need to answer some Historical (and date related) questions. All answers are available on the free interactive timeline at: www.bbc.co.uk/history/0/
Questions:
1) In what year was the first ever Eisteddfod held? ABCD
2) In what year did King John sign the Magna Carta? EFGH
3) In what year was Henry V crowned? IJKL - (Henry V was also born in nearby monmouth castle)
4) On what day in January 1901 did queen Victoria pass away? MN
Now using the information gathered solve the following equation to locate the final cache container:
North: HB J(D-E).MA0
West: 002 (M+N)J.(L+G)(C+B)(I+K+F+L)
As you approach the final cache I would strongly recommend that you keep young children close by due to a steep drop off to the right.
The cache is on the left hand side of the path and is no more than a few feet from the track. It is also near to a spring - hence the name.
Waterproof shoes or wellies may be needed in winter or after heavy rain.
Cache is a clear plastic tupperware box - please cover well
