This series of caches is placed to encourage hikers to enjoy this trail and its beautiful scenery. Cache is a small camo pill bottle. This cache is part of the Inukshuk Trail series. It also can serve as an alternate start point for the Inukshuk Trail series.
Following the Ava Trail, walk down Vista Heights drive and go left on Mesa Vista Drive. Enter the Dunes Trail area at the Church parking lot N 50 43.387 W 16.315 In the Mesa Vista, the “regulars” all have their favorite routes and the “dunes” are a very active place, particularly first thing in the morning. Crisscrossed by numerous paths, the dune walks are generally classified as “easy.” The pungent aroma of silvery sage and mats of prickly pear cacti combine with bunchgrass and myriads of wild flowers at different times of the year, making for an ever changing tableau. Bring a pencil.
