Chiedendo agli abitanti di Sauris, soprattutto quelli più anziani, di raccontarvi qualche storia del loro paese, loro ne saranno molto orgogliosi, e cosi scoprirete alcune storie particolari che fanno molto riflettere, soprattutto sulle difficoltà che non molti anni fa la gente di questi paesi aveva per comunicare con l'esterno. Se vi fermate ad ammirare la diga, o il ponte sul Lumiei poco più in sotto, noterete ancora il tracciato della vecchia strada che correva a strapiombo lungo la parete sinistra della forra. Questa strada scendeva giu fino ad Ampezzo ma era molto stretta, e cosi nel caso che due carri si incrociassero non era più possibile passare, e cosi l'unico slargo disponibile lungo la strada era nei pressi di un clap (sasso in friulano, inteso più come rilievo, sperone che come sassolino) più o meno a metà strada tra Ampezzo e Maina (il primo paese della val Lumiei). Qui i convogli che erano diretti a monte e quelli diretti a valle si incontravano e solitamente si accampavano qui (ci volevano 2 giorni con i carri per fare tutta la strada) e mangiavano la polenta tutti assieme e cosi questo punto ha assunto il nome di clap della polenta.
La cache è di dimensioni micro ed all'interno troverete solo il logbook, portatevi la penna e...buona polenta 
If you asking the Saurians, especially older ones, to tell you some history of their country, they will be very proud, and so you will find some stories that are very special to reflect, especially on the difficulties that many years ago the people of these countries had to communicate with the "outside". If you stop to admire the dam, or the bridge over Lumiei little further down, you'll see yet the route of the old road that ran along the left wall overlooking the gorge. This road goes down to Ampezzo but it was very close, and so if two chariots was both on the road wasn't possible to pass, and so the only open space available along the road was near a clap (stone in Friuli's language) more or less halfway between Ampezzo and Maina (the first country in the val Lumiei). Here the chariots that were headed upstream and downstream direct met and usually camped here (took 2 days to make the carts all the way) and ate polenta together and so this point has assumed the name of "clap della polenta".
The cache is micro-sized and inside you will find only the logbook, bring a pen and ...enjoy the polenta
