Geocache Description:

A little meet and greet to wake up cachers and get them outside this winter.  So many geocachers hibernate during January and February when it is one of the best times for geocaching!  This event is to motivate you to brave the cold and the snow and get outside and do some geocaching!  The event will be held from 9:00am - 10:00am in the Rabbit Run Pavillion at Grafton Lakes State Park.  I'll bring coffee and donuts to snack on.  If anyone else would like to bring something please feel free.   I'm looking forward to snow and seeing all of you!

For those not familiar with Grafton Lake State Park the main entrance is not used during winter months. Please use the winter entrance to the park. The winter entrance is plowed year around and is accessed off of North Long Pond Road. Please see the "Enter" waypoint for the exact location if you run into problems!

What's great about cold weather caching?
  • Leaves are off the trees making it easy to find those evil hanging caches.
  • No ticks to contend with!
  • No access fees to many parks that charge during the summer.
  • Ice and mud often freeze making those pesky 4.5 terrain swamp caches easier to access.
  • Shorter days means earlier starts for night caches!
  • Solitude!  Many people stay inside during winter months.  Enjoy having parks and trails to yourself that would normally be busy the rest of the year.
  • Snow Angels!

Hey Mother Nature, how about some snow this year?!?!?!
