This is our first Saskatchewan cache. It is a clear peanut-butter jar hidden in a conservation area. There are many summer trails in this area (and groomed ski trails in the winter). The cache is hidden not far off one of the walking trails (so as not to mess up the winter cross-country trails). We spotted three deer near where we placed the cache - if you are quiet and lucky, you might spot some as well as there are numerous animal trails criss-crossing the area.
The cache contains some animals (snake, dinosaur, spider, bear), key chain, pens, pencil and logbook etc. Maple Bear is a travel-bug we picked up in Oshawa -- he spent the last week resting up with his animal friends here in Regina, and is now back on the road again. He's currently headed to Vancouver, so if you are headed in that direction, he would love to hitch a ride with you. Hope you enjoy searching for this cache - and take some time to explore some of the many trails in the area.
Happy caching.

Over the years, the landscape at White Butte has changed somewhat - when we originally placed the cache, here was a prominent secondary track that struck off from the main trail towards the south-west. With the passage of time (and fires), this secondary trail has gradually grown in - and although it's still visible on Google maps, it's less visible when hiking. The cache is south-west of the main trail, and a little west of this secondary trail.
