Goose Island Goodies Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: I noticed that this cache has remained temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of a few weeks as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. For now, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact me at the below e-mail address when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

If you haven?t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past.

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

My first cache is hidden on Goose Island in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It is easily accessible by walking a dirt trail that also includes some beautiful scenery

This is my first attempt at hiding a cache. It is hidden in a plastic pail which is also inside of a zip-loc bag. The cache is somewhat tough to spot due to the high traffic in the area, but with a little persistence, you should come across it! The pail contains: a pocket knife, some band-aids and gauze, an ashtray, a coin from The Beatles first U.S. tour, a package of hot cider mix, and a disposable razor. There is also a pen, but I forgot a log book. I will travel back to the site within a week to leave one. The quickest path to the cache is to follow the right fork from the trailhead although the cache is only about 500 feet from where the trail loops. Expect to walk about 4/10 of a mile from the parking area to the cache. I highly suggest spending some time exploring the area in the early morning. Within view of the cache, there are a couple of lakes, one with a dock, and a field for play. *Went back out and placed a log book today (3/20).
