Geocache Description:

Since moving back to Michigan, I have been amazed at how much has changed in the 5 years I was gone. The addition of the Bend Area Open Space being one of them. (Yes, I realize that last sentence was a fragment.) This fantastic area is under used geocaching wise. Of all the times I have been here, I have only seen another car once. It reminds me of simply being a kid and wandering around nature. There are not many trails, but a service road will be useful for much of this adventure.
Awhile back I was caching with Abelman and he was talking how he enjoys a good multi. Well this is in response to that comment. I too enjoy a nice multi, and I hope this fits the bill. It may not be a cache for everyone. It is not a quick grab and will have you walking around a bit. I hope you enjoy your time here and enjoy the area as much as I have. Oh did I mention he told me that despite his paralyzing fear of heights, he has a childlike love of climbing trees. We knew each other before geocaching and started the same time. Our lives went different directions, then we both ended up back in Michigan. This is an ode to him.

This is a pretty straightforward multi. At the posted coordinates, you will find the coordinates for stage two, etc. It will bring you to the Grand River and back again. There is a good chance of getting wet, muddy, and sweaty. This is also part of my Bend Area series and will have a clue to the final mystery cache.

As a helpful hint, you may want to bring boots, or waders, depending on the season. Good luck!
