We are thrilled to have been voted the May 2013 Cache of the Month by the WSGA!
The 2013 Skagit Eagle Festival takes place every Saturday and Sunday in January in Concrete, Rockport and Marblemount. Many fun and educational activities are planned to celebrate the eagle watching season. This year, we hope many will add geocaching to the list. To add to the celebration, we were asked by the Concrete Chamber of Commerce to hide a geocache. There are some prizes for the first couple finders that we think will make it worth your while to seek out this cache. The cache is also stocked with Eagle Festival brochures so feel free to take one so you can explore other activities in the area.
The listed coordinates will take you to a historic building located in the heart of downtown Concrete. You are looking for a plaque.
Find the second year listed on the plaque. From that year subtract 1432 to get the new latitude (XXX).
Find the first year listed on the plaque. From that year subtract 1425 to the new longitude (YYY).
New Lat/Long: N 48 32.xxx W 121 44.YYY
The final coordinate will take you to a view of an important part of the Baker River hydroelectric project and a good place to look for eagles. Parking is available very near the cache site. The area may be busy at times.
