It appears we have set a precident to place a cache January first to welcome the New Year, and to assure that cachers have at least one new cache to start the year. So here it is.
We were starting out to find a cache early this morning and remembered to grab a container as we headed out the door. We do like these caches to be available for almost everyone and this year's hide is no exception. The trails were full of dogs walking their people and a little snow still crunched underfoot. Not much, but it can still be found around here. The houses are creeping closer to the trails but this is still a nice walk any time of the year. The trails all look so very different when you are walking on all the leaves instead of walking under them.
The GPSs were having a little trouble here even with most of the tree canopy on the forest floor. What you are looking for can be found when you see a very tall tree stretching across the trail. This is a container size that is common - you can hold it in one hand, has a log book and a few small items inside.
Enjoy the find, but we hope you enjoy the area even more. Come and walk here any time of the year - you will enjoy all the seasons in this area.
Oh, yes, one more thing, Happy New Year!! We hope you find almost all the caches you search for, but not all - just enough to keep you humble and still happy.
