Used to go to Eastend 1/1/13 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nirvanadiver: I am archiving this cache because today when I went back to put in a new log, the place is a total mess with suit cases dumped with the contents all over the place, many wallets also open and contents gone ... looks like some pretty nasty people have been using the place to go through things that they have taken from others and leaving what they didn't want all over the place. So to say the least I did not feel safe back there by myself so I do not want to send geocachers there either

Geocache Description:

A few years back you could take this road all the way to the community of Eastend...they now have a BIG fence blocking the road, bumpy as it was, it was a fun drive, past all the farm land. BEWARE: This is a dead end road and some people have used it as a dumping area. Dec 2017 I went out there to put in new log and the place is a total mess, looks like thieves have been using the place to go through stuff they have taken from people's cars. I would not go back there alone anymore.

I wanted to put this cache in the Salina Reserve, but talked to the Manager of the Botanic Gardens and was told it is not ready for the public yet and is very dangerous to walk back there, he said PLEASE do not do it. Someday they will get the trails ready for Public hikes..But till then this drive will have to do. Please drive very slow as the road is bumpy and you never know when you will come upon another driver back there.  The road gets pretty narrow.    This is another cache to show you what the inter-island looks like in it's natural state.   People are even starting to build back in here, not a bad idea, except in the hot summer it gets pretty hot with no "Christmas winds" blowing.

The cache is a tiny tiny tube, it should not be too hard to find once you find the right road.   Please put the cache back as found with the open end down so the rain will not get in. THE CACHE IS NOT ON THE GROUND.

Small note on cache maintenance: Local geocacher caymansara has offered to assist. Thanks!
