I've decided to mix it up a bit this year, and move the Roast to Lincoln Woods. We've all been to Goddard and most of us have probably found all of the caches there. So spend a day caching LW before meeting up with other cachers.
Here are details as of now. I will update things as we get closer to the date (and will post a note when they are updated). Be sure to "Watch Listing" to stay up to date.
- When: Saturday, July 13th, 2013, from 3:00-5:00pm (or there abouts). I have the pavilion all day, and I may get there early, so don't hesitate to stop by and see if others are there
- Where: Lincoln Woods State Park, Lincoln, RI at the Pavilion (posted Coordinates)
- Food: Chips, Dip, Veggie Plates and Soft Drinks; I will have the grills fired up, so if you feel like bringing something for yourself to grill, please do! I will have cooking utensils avialable.
- Give-aways: I'll try to get some goodies for a raffle.
- Kayak Rentals:The kayak rental center has been gracious enough to give attendees a reduced rate for rentals: $20 for a tandem and $15 for a single, for up to 2 hours! Just mention that you are with the geocaching event when you rent the day of the event!
- Special Activity:RIclimber has set up a Cliffsides event to allow folks to log the rappelling cache in the Park (Yahoo! I Did It At Ten) before the event.
- Park Details: Dogs are allowed on a leash no longer than 6'. There is no fee to enter the park, but I am requesting a small voluntary donation to help defray the cost of renting the Pavillion and for food. Parking for the event is right next to the pavilion.
So come on out after a day of caching and share your caching stories, catch up with old friends, and make some new ones. There is a swimming beach nearby and loads of caches!
This is a Rain or Shine Event!
* No Pigs will be harmed in the execution of this event.
