You should approach this cache from the access road next to the small building adjacent to the facility.
This is the seventh in a series of 12 in the Lake Cumberland District of the Blue Grass Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America requires years of dedication and hard work. In addition to 21 required merit badges, each Scout must plan, develop and give leadership to a service project for any religious organization or any school or community. On average, these projects require more than 160 hours of service to complete.
SomerFit was constructed in 2000. The 40,000-square-foot building includes a competition lap pool, therapy pool, gym, fitness center, multi-purpose room, sauna and whirlpool. The grounds feature a youth soccer field, paved walking/running path, basketball court and picnic shelter. The property is currently owned by the Somerset Independent School District.
The picnic shelter, located to the left of the path very near the cache site, was constructed as an Eagle Scout Project by a youth from Troop 170 in 2007.
