Geocache Description:

We were sitting here at this beautiful place, watching the waves coming in and listening to the sound of the wind, sea and birds and feeling the warm breeze.
Straight to the West you can see, if weather allows, Cape Point in a distance of 30km. In the North-West in about 50km, Table Mountain may show his newest blanket to you.

As we were relaxing here, we started thinking what may lay behind the horizon.
How to get there ?
Where to get food or is there a good restaurant ?
Could we find answers there to some of our questions of life ?
Or what is the real question to the answer 42 ?
And suddenly the story of Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect came into our minds as they we hitchhiking through the galaxies without having a real clue where to go next.

And the name of this traditional Geocache was born. Perhaps one of you will get a lift from this peak to the Southpole where some very special Geocaches are located already.

Perhaps a Vogon space ship or Captain Kirk with his USS Enterprise or Han Solo in his Millenium Falcon will pick you up ‘to explore strange new worlds and to boldly go where no man has gone before’.
Or a 'Heart of Gold' with its Infinite Improbability Drive will pick you just there as you using your towel to dry your Digital watch, peril sensitive sunglasses and thinking cap - but that would be infinite improbable, wouldn't it ?

Please be so kind and leave a short message in the logbook or in the Internet what far galaxies you are heading for now.

Hitchhiking to Southpole

THIS IS NOT AN EASY WALK TO GET THERE

So think about it if you really want to do the challenge !
No visible way up to here, so choose right shoes.
Baboons may cross your path, so be prepared with some pebbles in your pockets and even better, a visible slingshot could work magic to keep the folks away from you.

As a sidestory: Searching for the caches name brought me in contact with another Arthur Dent story in Germany. Heart of Gold
A great mystery, until now only in German, but if you solved it and landing in Frankfurt, shoot me an email and we will meet for sipping German beer and filling the log book there.
