After I retired from the military my family decided I needed a dog. Since I don't work, and the kids are grown and the cat is old, I was spending most of my time home alone.
Not that that was a problem of course! But to make the wife happy we made a few trips to the local pound until we came across this beautiful puppy. She is supposed to be a German Shepherd and Beagle mix... but I just don't see it. Anyway, she was truly a little pound puppy and for the last year has been my constant companion.
This Christmas the wife got her a "Log my dog" doggy collar, so if you see us, take the Travel Bug number off her dog tag and log it at geocaching.com.
Below are a few pictures of Penne out geocaching with me.

Penne puppy in NV. Here she was 4 or 5 mo old and on one of her first
geohunts ever. As a puppy she wasn't much help finding geocaches.

Only a few months later, here she is geocaching in Grand Teton National Park.
She's not all that much older and still isn't much help finding caches... yet.

At a year old, Penne is in ND helping me investigate the woodchipper, from the movie "Fargo"
Don't let her hangdog expression fool you. She is sharp, mature and capable of solving puzzle caches.

Geocaching in Utah. We were just outside Bryce Canyon area.

And finally, I'm grabbing a cache while Penne sits quietly... contemplating
the Snake River as it winds its way through southern Idaho.
Have fun and cache on!
