REM-Eiland
Deze cache ligt nabij het Reclame Exploitatie Maatschappij (REM)-Eiland, vroeger gebruikt als 'piratenstation', tegenwoordig restaurant.
De REM werd in 1963 opgericht en wilde commerciële radio- en televisie-uitzendingen verzorgen. Omdat de Nederlandse wetgeving dit niet toestond, gebeurden deze uitzendingen vanaf dit kunstmatige eiland juist buiten de territoriale wateren.
Toen het 'eiland' geen dienst meer deed als zendstation, dreigde de sloop van dit bouwwerk. Echter, in 2009 werd het gebouw gered en sinds 2011 is het een restaurant in de Amsterdamst Houthavens.

The cache is located close to the Reclame Exploitatie Maatschappij (REM)-island, formerly used for illegal radio/tv broadcasting, nowadays used as restaurant.
The REM was founded in 1963, planning to make commercial radio- en televisie-shows. Because the Dutch laws did not allow this, the snows were broadcasted from this man made island, located in territorial waters.
When the 'island' wasn't used anymore for broadcasting, demolition was planned. However, in 2009 the building was saved and in 2011 is was installed in Amsterdams' Houthavens as a restaurant.
