How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

As a chemistry graduate student I spend most of my time in a lab right across the street. I work with materials known as Zintl phases to synthesize Si nanoparticles. Specifically, I work with sodium silicide, Na4Si4, and the more exotic Zintl phases A12Si17 (A = K, Rb, Cs). These materials are highly pyrophoric! The Si NPs I synthesize have many potential applications, including photovoltaics (i.e., solar cells on the roofs of people’s houses). Enjoy your visit and wave hello to my second home.

This cache is a micro so please bring your own pen. There should be a tool contained within the container to aid in removing the log book. And as always, use stealth.
