This cache is placed in Blackdown National Park and is placed according to the guidelines of the Park and Wildlife Service as well as Geocaching.com guidelines. When looking for this cache be mindful of others, careful to preserve the environment and always leave things how you found them. Blackdown is a place of significant heritage to Aboriginal people and a number of sites close to the cache are points of interest. The cache is located in the Campground close to Mimosa Creek where indigenous people used to camp and frequent in the not so recent past. As you find the cache take time to enjoy the surroundings. Because this cache is in a National Park you are required to comply with all regulations concerning the Park - more information can be found here.
Recently when camping with my son in Blackdown I had the idea of hiding a cache and he helped to select this location. The campground has an outdoor screen for showing wildlife documentaries and other educational films. From time to time the Rangers will run a show. It's a cache that because of its proximity will get to watch movies from time to time, and perhaps be one of the most well entertained caches out there. With a lot of people coming through the park every summer and not a lot of caches in the area, we hope that this will give you a pleasant and happy find while you are camping here.
Please be careful when retrieving the cache. Like lots of places in this National Park - the ground is rough with lots of small cliffs, drops and sharp edges. Please be safe and thoughtful in both taking and placing this cache back. Of course make sure that the ever present muggles don't see you.
One final thing, because this is a National Park, trading items is not allowed, so its just the log book and geocoins only. Please respect the conditions of this cache and have fun.
