Il territorio comunale si sviluppa sul punto di transizione tra la pianura veneta e l'area collinare sovrastante che anticipa le prealpi bellunesi, denominata Colli Asolani. Il capoluogo si arrocca tra le colline, affacciandosi sulla pianura sottostante, a quota 210 m sul livello del mare.
Il nome deriva dal latino asylum, rifugio, privilegiata residenza scelta da chi desidera lenire gli affanni, vivere in pace, creare.
Fa parte del Club dei borghi più belli d'Italia.
[ENG] Asolo is an Italian town of 9,450 inhabitants in the province of Treviso.
The municipality's territory is located at the point of transition between the Venetian plain and the hilly area above, that anticipates the Belluno prealps, called Colli Asolani. The village is perched in the hills, overlooking the valley below, at an altitude of 210 m above sea level.
The town's name comes from the Latin asylum, refuge, privileged residence chosen by those who want to soothe worries, live in peace, and create.
The town is a member of the Club of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
