A series of 18 caches placed around the area where I grew up, and where I spent many a long hour getting up to all sorts of mischief! You will cover about 4.5 miles and it might reasonably take about 2.5 hours from start to finish.
Many thanks to Gralorn for the donation of the majority of the containers used in this series. I hope I have recycled them appropriately!
The caches are placed so as to be found easily (for the most part), and you will have to travel along a few quiet “B” roads and footpaths that surround some of the areas where I learnt the mysterious art of the “assiguy” and “umdinger” (both projectile based entertainment), and where various air rifle fights took place (wouldn’t get away with it now!!).
You will have to cross a railway at one point to continue your journey, and although it is rarely used these days, it does still carry some traffic, so please exercise extreme caution as you cross!
You will also pass through a working farm (twice), so you can expect to see cattle of some description, and of course the fields will probably be (very) muddy and wet, so wellies or very good quality waterproof footwear is recommended. Please respect the footpaths that have been marked out and maintained by the farmer, and keep all geodogs on a lead while in the area.
This is one of the few caches that was not donated by Gralorn, and was actually won in a raffle at one of the Wiltshire events. you are searching for a small container in a camo bag.
