Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Aloha and E Komo Mai to a Dr. Spott tribute cache!

This is not the greatest cache in the world... it's simply a tribute, modeled after one of my first finds over two years ago, Reading is FUN!(damental).  The hike is about 4 miles on varied trail types on southern Sheep Mountain. The cache is designed to be a relaxing, yet a cardiovascular challenge for even the most seasoned hiker. There will be some moderate climbing required, but nothing that would necessitate climbing gear or bouldering skills (I have neither). Park at the listed coordinates, and proceed to stage 1 (found by solving the puzzle below!) Be careful, and be patient - look around and you will find reasonably easy ways to access all areas! Please replace all containers in their original locations and hide as well or better than you found them!

The name of this cache comes from the old reading program I remember from school - Book It!. I'm not sure if the program is still around, but I do remember getting personal pan pizzas as a reward for reading... mmm. I wish I still got food for reading. Reading has always been a favorite hobby of mine, and this is one way to share my love of books! The original cache contents are all books that I have enjoyed and thought I'd pass along. Books are packed in slider Ziploc freezer bags with desiccant packets.

If you are so inclined, trade a book that is important to you for one in the cache. If one of the books in the cache really grabs your attention - take it, even if you don't have a book for trade! The important thing is to read! Whether you trade or not, please at least mention a book or books that meant something to you in the logbook and on the cache page. I imagine that over time this theme will slowly be replaced by general trade items, but who knows!

Oh, and you had better consult your SUMMER READING LIST before you go...

The Love of the Last Tycoon - F Scott Fitzgerald

Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz - L. Frank Baum

Nemisis - Agatha Christie

(Take a break... listen to David Bowie's album Seven, or watch the film Se7en or...)

The Emerald City of Oz - L. Frank Baum

The Conduct of Life - Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Corsair - Lord Byron

Brave New World - Aldous Huxley

As always, thanks to the team at CacheCrazy.com for their support in placing this cache.
