Geocache Description:

In old Hawaii, ahupuaʻa was the common subdivision of the land. It is comparable to the tapere in southern Cook Islands.

This cache is a large container. It is located on the right hand side of the Puainako Extension as you are going to the saddle road from Komahana Street. having placed many caches along this highway, I wanted to fill the gap between Heaven's Well (.02miles away) and Hilo Hillside (.01miles away).

The Kukuau Ahupua`a  must have been full of lfe back in old Hawaii. As glaze at the view from this spot I can almost imagine what secrets it once held. It's almost a shame to see how the modern world has pushed it way from the dreams of the Hawaii of old.

BYOP...Have fun,,,be safe and put the cache back exactly how you found it.
Alawys Malama the 'Aina and take the time to appreciate the beauty around you.
