Geocache Description:

Not far off from US-50, near Grimes Point, along a good gravel road. Accessible year round via any 2WD. Cache is located a short distance from the road.  There is a parking area and a "walk-through" access for the fence.

Of course, this cache is named after a phrase from one of our favorite movie heroes.  Creepy, crawly, and slithering things can be found inside and such things would also be good swag items to trade for and/or leave behind, but are not required. The container also has a small trophy for the FTF!

This is actually a new location for our original "I Hate Snakes" cache,  which went missing, along with its entire hiding place (a rusted out antique car body), back in October of 2011.  After the old car body (and the cache) disappeared, we prepared a new container and had planned to put it back out in the same vicinity, but under a nearby greasewood bush that was a few feet away.  However, before we were able to get the new container in place, we found out that there was a high possibility that the area was actually located on private property.  As a result, we decided that we would not be able to put the new container out until we found it a new home and, subsequently, the original cache got archived.

The original "I Hate Snakes" cache was one of the most fun ones we owned.  The original container was a "regular" size one, that was exactly the same color as the old rusted out car that it was hidden in, so people had lots of trouble finding it, even though one edge of it was in plain sight, right there in the door.  On more than one occasion, we took different family friends on a geocaching outing to introduce them to the sport/game.  When we would take them to "I Hate Snakes" we enjoyed watching as they hunted all over the area for the cache.  They would look around for a few minutes, look directly at the container, continue to look some more, look directly at it again, look under the nearby bushes, go back to the old car body, look directly at the container again, keep looking, and so forth, until they either finally realized what they were looking at or until we gave them several strong hints until they found it.  Other fellow geocachers also logged similar comments about their own quests for the illusive container.  Because of these memories, we decided that we still wanted to put the replacement container that we had prepared back out somewhere, but we got busy, so it has taken much longer than we expected.  Now, after more than a year, we have finally found a suitable location for this new "I Hate Snakes - II" cache.

This new location for "I Hate Snakes - II" is in the same vicinity of yet another cache that has since been archived, called "Jimbeau's Cache."  This one wasn't ours, but rather, it was one we once found during a night time geocaching excursion.  The "Jimbeau's Cache" container also had something to do with a snake.  It wasn't a real snake, but it sure gave us a startle and made us jump in the dark.  Because of that experience, we decided that the old vicinity of "Jimbeau's Cache" would be a suitable home for "I Hate Snakes - II."

Have fun and enjoy!!!
