This CARW2013 cache will be published about 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2012. Please remember that caches CANNOT be hunted until 9:00 am on SATURDAY March 2, 2013. Should you hunt and find this cache prior, it will not count for the event, and FTF points are only valid starting 9:00 am on March 2, 2013.
This is one of 13 caches hidden in my CARE series for CARW2013. You said the theme should be something that inspires us and what I love and care most about Edmonton is the river valley. So that is how I came up for the name for this series: CARE.
CARE stands for Caching Along the River's Edge.
I always wanted to hide a power trail of caches along the river and I noticed there were a lack of caches in this area. Most of them should be easy enough to find and they are all winter-friendly. There is a jogging/biking path that runs the whole length of the trail and most of the caches aren't too far from the path, although a few of them might require some bushwhacking. This trail is best done on a bike. Or, if there are 2 of you then you could park one car near one end and drive to the other end and park the other car and walk the trail and then you won't have too far to walk when you're done. Do NOT attempt to park along River Valley Road as it is only 1 lane in each direction. There are 3 different public parking lots along the trail so make sure to use those. Finally, it doesn't matter though which end you start at. Have fun!!
