Geocache Description:

My family and I moved from Wood River when I was 6  years old. We visit frequently because most of my family still lives around here. I have vivid memories of places in and around the refinery town that I use to call home.  Follow my series. Maybe we share them.  There are 6 so in the series. I live in Chicago now but my heart is down here.
 
CONGRATS TO AWANDERER FOR FTF.

This is a 3fer.
1..BURBANK ELEMENTARY- I went to kindergarten and 1st grade here and I lived at the end of the block. It's a shame it's gone but I'm glad the building isn't rotting away. They use to hold a HUGE carnival here every year and this is where my fear of Ferris Wheels was born...shiver...

2..Across Central street was a favorite hangout of ours in the summer. They use to dip in crunch and chocolate. It was awesome! 3.. My sister and I could walk to the old movie house without crossing the street. BONUS. She was 5 years older and always had to drag me. More often than not they would show a movie that scared me. I always ended up sitting behind the counter in the lobby chowing on snacks. I wonder if my parents knew the owners..... To this day I can't watch The Blob.
