Geocache Description:

These 8 caches, the first that we have placed, follow the lanes and footpaths around the edges of Cannock Wood and Gentleshaw. These two villages are, in fact, one village with the east side being under Lichfield Council, and called Gentleshaw, and the west side under Cannock Chase Council and called Cannock Wood.

The caches have been placed to fit in with existing ones from other owners to create a, more or less, circular route of 19 caches. The recommended starting point is Castle Ring car park with a suggested route being:

Castle Ring Iron Age Hill Fort (Earthcache)
Retirement Plan - Fridays (Archaeology)
CWAG 1
Church Micro Cannock Wood
C.O.S Nun's Well that ends well (#1)
C.O.S Nun's Well that ends well (#2)
CWAG 2
Last Train To Clarksville
Down In The Tube Station At Midnight
Jumping Someone Else's Train
Train In Vain
Oh? Deer!!
CWAG 3
The sandy hills of Redmore
CWAG 4
Don Quixote
Church Micro Gentleshaw
CWAG 5
CWAG 6
CWAG 8

Note that the route is hilly. On the plus side, it passes 4 pubs: The Park Gate, The Rag, The Redmore and The Windmill, all of which serve food.
