This cache is a replacement cache set out after Tangent's original 'loggerlager' had been vandalized several times.
Information from Original Cache: Travel along Wildwood Road. At Crouse Run Road, turn into the parking lot of the Tuscan Inn. You will be hiking along a trail that crosses Crouse(Grouse) Run. The area is protected/maintained by the Pine Creek Land Conservation Trust. Part of the Rachael Carson Trail, this section was once traversed by the Butler Short Line an interurban trolley system; visited by Rachael Carson, famed environmentalist/writer; and was home to the Wildwood Lodge, a German beer hall hence the name Loggerlager.
New Information: The original cache was placed in a hollow in a tree down in the valley, right along the trail. Due to the heavy traffic in this area, it had been vandalized several times. Finally, I decided to replace this cache for Tangent.
The new cache is further out of the main valley, and definitely off the beaten trail - thus the more difficult rating than the original. The view up by the cache area was very pretty - even in early March when I placed this cache. You'll be looking for a medium sized Rubbermaid container with a beige lid. Once you do find the cache, please return it to its hiding spot in the same manner as it was found. This will help us avoid the cache being vandalized.
Warning: Though this warning may give away the hiding spot, I just want to remind folks that wildlife is out there. Don't go sticking your hand in holes without checking first - I'd hate to see a cache log about someone who came home with a snake bite instead of a cache find.
