This is the pre-event pizza so if your here ahead of the event stop by and have pizza or not. We will have a raffle as well as a couple FTF caches to raffle and play Geopoker for the first 12 cachers who want to play. This is to Get the event going for Saturday and Sunday Just like last year same cacher channel same cacher place same cacher time.

Friday Night 5:30 to when ever. 4 woody's has hid 40 caches (which will all get published) and set up the event which we were able to have It was to be sponsered by the (City of South Lake Tahoe but they have flaked and are now charging us so there may be a small charge??)and GeoTeaming Plus I am running a competition for 2 and 4 cacher teams with another 20 caches, thats 60 new published caches, more about this later. Competition rules Events associated for Geotahoe South will run from Friday night, June 21, through Sunday afternoon, June 23. However, the competitions will be held on Saturday, June 22, only. The complete weekend agenda will be available at registration area. The other caches hidden by 4woody’s for non competition will be released a little different 30 on saturday and and 20 on sunday, including over 50 permanent caches. Non-competitors will have access to all permanent caches during the competitions, Course Competitions The course consists of 11 caches. The caches will be mostly puzzle type caches and you may need access to a smartphone or computer to do them along with the ability to do wherigo’s, scan QR codes When you get to a cache there will be a word or a code there that you will have to write on your Score card to show you were at the cache. DO NOT ALTER OR MOVE ANY CONTAINERS! The object is to get as many finds as possible and get back to the registration as fast as possible and before 4pm on Saturday. Competiton registrations will be on Saturday During Regular Registration. Team Competition Two-person teams and four-person teams will compete at the same time on different courses. Teams must consist of no more than 4 players (male or female) for the 4-person event If you want to compete in the 4-person event with less than 4 people, please understand you will be at a disadvantage. Each player with the 4-player team should have their own GPS unit. If you do not, it would be a huge disadvantage, as 4-person teams will often split up to find as many caches as possible. Two-person teams may share a GPS unit or they can both have one, as long as they cache together. You will only have one score card and hint sheet. Each team must register as a team, and listing all players. You can have one reserve player in the unlikely event someone is unable to compete. Ten minutes prior to your event starting time, no changes or substitutions will be allowed. You may form your team at the event. Each team will have to find as many caches as they can by the 4pm time limit. You will start at 10:00 am and must complete by 4 pm. You may split up to complete the course. At the starting point, your team will be given score cards and cache listings. Everyone must make sure they get the right word and put it in the proper area of the card, to get credit for each cache. If you split up, make sure each person in your group understands that all the words should be the goal of the team, and each member should have a portion of the words assigned to them by the team captain. This will eliminate duplicate codes. These codes will be inside of small camouflaged containers. Your team finishes when ALL members return. 1st (GOLD), 2nd (SILVER) and 3rd (BRONZE) place prizes will be awarded at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening at the BBq Disqualification Any person or team found altering a cache container or course in any way will be disqualified and asked to leave the event. Anyone coming back after their deadline will be docked 1 word for each 5 minutes late, up to 20 minutes. After 21 minutes, you will be disqualified. Losing your score card will result in disqualification! Scoring The individuals or team (2- or 4-person) who find the most codes by the 4pm time limit will win 1st 2nd or 3rd place If there is a tie, then the team with the shortest time wins. If there is still a tie, a tiebreaker will be used. We will have a 52-card deck and the winners will cut the deck, high card wins. Anyone coming back after their deadline will be docked 1 code for each 5 minutes late, up to 20 minutes. After 21 minutes, you will be disqualified.
