Anderson Pond DGC - Almost Done Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

pdooley: This cache survived plenty of high water and rains over the first year but the historic downpours one month ago were finally just too much and cut a new channel right through where the cache was hidden. We walked the banks of the stream for as much as was accessible but didn't spot the container. I'm sad to archive this one since it was our very first cache placement but we will be moving soon and I don't have the time to replace the container just to adopt it out shortly thereafter. This is a beautiful location so hopefully someone else will place a cache nearby very soon.

Geocache Description:

This is our first hide so hopefully everyone enjoys it.  Cache is the large size container from the hide a cache kit.  As such there is a FTF trackable coin and a couple TBs ready to start or continue their journeys.

We discovered the Anderson Pond Disc Golf Course (DGC) while hunting for Anderson Jewel (GCHM4E) which is located off the second fairway.  This cache is located on a trail called the "Florida Trail" which dives into the woods between the 17th hole and 18th tee so you if you're disc golfing you can take a slight detour before your last tee shot from here:

Picture of 18th Tee

This is not THE Florida Trail that runs through the northern part of the range but rather a nice 0.8 mile loop that circles around Anderson Pond.

The GPS signal bounces around a lot due to tree cover so we got coordinates on three different days about a month apart, one cloudy day and two clear days with a Garmin and a Droid each day to come up with the posted coords.  Accuracy was 4-9 meters so let me know if you're off by more than that. Since it is so close to the trail we tried to camo it really well with stuff we found in the area. Please re-hide as well as you found it.
