Some time ago i was thinking about cache containers and this idea just popped up in my head after seeing one of these caches on the net, Why don't i get one of these myself?.......

The info bit.......

The ancient woodlands of Park Wood and Ten Shilling Wood, both situated in Canley, are only 20-30 minutes by bus from the city centre, yet have survived unchanged for at least the last 200 years (the earliest map of the area dates from 1776).

These woods are currently under the control of Coventry City Council, but have had many owners over the centuries.  These woodlands are available to the public for recreational use, and are lovely to stroll through - especially if you like mud!.They are now both designated Local Nature Reserves.

Ten Shilling wood is about 12 acres in size, whilst Park Wood covers an area of 48 acres.  They provide an urban refuge for plants and wildlife and, due to increasing environmental pressures, the council ask that the woods are treated with respect.

Ten Shilling Wood derives its name from Ten Shilling Field; the reference relating to the cost of a shooting permit per gun per season.  Back in the day, there are references to Park Wood as Fifty Shilling Wood because of the £2 licence for shooting there.  Nowadays, the only shooting that takes place in these woods involve cameras, as the woods are rich in places to photograph.

More recently, in 2002 Park Wood has had an extension; a strip of woodland a has been added to the sides. This area has had many different tree types planted, and wild flowers has been sown.  Somewhere among the 400+ new trees are the ones that my daughter and I helped to plant.  I wonder how they are doing?

There is a path running from the main path through the woods, this will lead you to it. To avoid kicking up of the ground the cache is visible, please replace as you find it
Enjoy yourself's
