This cache is located along the path running between Finnoch Bog farm in Inverkip and Kelly Mains Farm in Wemyss Bay. Although the cache is situated nearer the Inverkip side of the path you can reach the path from either side and is a nice walk in the country whatever the weather. Theres great views across the Clyde when the cloud permits and shouldn't take longer than half an hour to saunter along it. Some parts of the path can get muddy following rain but when has that stopped you?
To reach the path from the Inverkip side you leave the A78 just before you reach Wemyss Bay, onto Spey Road and take the first road on the right. The path starts next to the lovely house on the right .
The first part of the path from the Inverkip side provides access to Ardgowan Airfield, base of the Finnoch Flying Club. Just over the stone bridge near to GZ there is access to the airfield which sits only a couple of hundred metres away, past the rusty gates. At first glance this looks like another field but where the top of the field levels out there is a 300 ft long grass airstrip cut into field, complete with hangar and wind sock. I was pretty suprised to stumble across this from another direction one day given I had no idea it existed!
The cache is not far from the path at the bridge. A new fence (placed August 2015) means either a hop over it or crossing the burn at GZ. There is a small hint in the title. Please replace the camo.
The cache is small click lock box containing log book, pencil and some swappables.
