This is a series of caches that I was inspired to create by Red_Family's series of Homburg caches called Grosse Namen and Ich Trage Einen Grossen Namen.
Each of the people in this series were born (MADE) in Germany. Later in life they immigrated to the USA and became citizens of America. Many of them had a great influence on the USA and the rest of the world. I hope that each person who completes this series learns a little bit more about how our two countries, German and The United States of America, are forever connected.
HINT:
I am man.
I was born in what is now Hessen.
I am dead.
Too Difficult? Maybe this will help:
I was one of twenty-two siblings.
I left Germany in 1857 with three of my brothers.
I had thirteen children, eight sons and five daughters.
Do you know who I am now? No?
What I produced is now the number one product of its kind in the USA.
I served in the Union Army for 14 months during the US Civil War.
During the 1920's I had to stop producing and selling my products due to a federal law but was able to begin again in 1933 when the federal law was repealed.
