With a little bit of nicer weather in the Fort Wayne area in February, Fritz and Kev decided to remember a cachin' friend who had recently (and suddenly) left us. This cache is in memory of Pink Pearl...the Eraser. He was a true "Premium" member of our geo-caching community. You will probably need a cache extraction tool to log this one.
For those of you who knew Jim and chased his caches all over Northeast Indiana you probably both loved and hated his passion for pine trees. This cache is hidden in the tradition of Pink Pearl. Of course it is hanging in a rather large pine tree near the site of a little cemetery that most people don't even remember. Because the University has reworked their parking lots in that area you will have a tougher time parking than Kev did when he found the previous cache that was hidden in the giant hole in that nasty tree near this new ground zero. We suggest that you park across the street in the other college's parking lot and stroll across St. Joe Road to find this one. The parking coordinates are provided for your convenience. Please bring a pen or pencil to sign the log. Because this one is wedged between two college campuses and a tiny cemetery please limit your caching to daylight hours. We don't believe there are any real "posted hours" but why risk having to explain your presence in the middle of the night to campus police! Have fun...remember Jim...and be relieved in the fact that this is not the type of pine tree that has those darned prickly needles that make Kev's arms break out in red dots for days at a time!
