Geocache Description:

A Girl Scout themed cache in the Indian Valley Open Space.

Today marks the first day of Girl Scout Cookie sales for 2013!!  What better way to get those girls ready to start hitting the streets and selling cookies than a Geocaching hike.  This is our troop’s second Geocaching hike as the girls work to earn their Geocaching patch.  The girls have learned how to use a GPSr, learned about satellites, learned about longitude and latitude, made trade items, learned about terrain and difficulty rating and we have gone over the etiquette of Geocaching.  We have covered the different types of caches like traditional, multi and puzzle caches as well as some of the caching lingo like FTF, muggles and logs.  Our first hike took us to several caches on Deer Island and today we were in Indian Valley.  We are looking forward to many more Geocaching adventures in our future. This cache is filled with all things Girls Scouts (except the cookies), so come out and make a trade!!

This cache is placed well off any marked trail but should be easy to find once you are at ground zero.  We hope you have as much fun finding this cache as much as we had placing it!
