Puerto del Carmen - PDC

Vista de la Avenida de las Playas.
Puerto del Carmen es la principal zona turística de la isla de Lanzarote, en las Islas Canarias. Forma parte del municipio de Tías, y se extiende a lo largo de unos 7 km de costa, en los que hay al menos 3 playas y hoteles con capacidad para hasta 30.000 personas.

Turismo

Desde la apertura del Hotel los Fariones en 1966, Puerto del Carmen atrae a turistas de toda Europa, tanto de España como de Irlanda, Reino Unido, Alemania y Escandinavia. El paseo conocido como "Avenida de las Playas" contiene multitud de restaurantes, tiendas, bares y casinos. Desde la costa, Puerto del Carmen se ha ido extendiendo hacia el interior, hasta una distancia de aproximadamente un kilómetro. En el extremo oeste de Puerto del Carmen se encuentra el antiguo pueblo, en el que se encuentra el Puerto de la Tiñosa.

Pto. del Carmen is the main tourist town on the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. It is part of the municipality of Tías. Most of Lanzarote's over 1 million visitors per year choose this town as their destination. As a result, almost all of the town's economy revolves around tourism.

It attracts tourists from all over Europe, particularly Ireland, the UK and Germany as well as from Scandinavia and Spain. The Avenida de las Playas, the main street/avenue in the town, extends some 7 km along the island's southern coast, with beaches on one side and many restaurants, bars, shops and other tourist attractions on the other. Apartments, villas and hotels cover a kilometre or so inland from the coastline. The quaint and peaceful old town includes the harbour and docks, the Puerto Tinosa. Here there are a smaller variety of restaurants and bars with views across the harbour and the sea to the volcanic mountains of Papagayo beyond to views of the next island of Fuerteventura.
Scuba Diving

Puerto del Carmen is host to a large number of dive centres and scuba diving is one of the most popular sports there with very favourable conditions. Water temperatures vary from 19 degrees in the winter to 23 degrees in the summer and visibility averages over 25 meters to 30 meters.
Shopping and dining

Puerto Del Carmen hosts a variety of shops which sell mainly Tourist Oriented products. The New Town hosts Bars, Restaurants and Tourist Shops. The Old Town has many restaurants with outdoor terraces that overlook the marina below and the distant volcanic peaks. The Biosfera Plaza is a newly constructed shopping plaza, which includes many international brands and has entertainment facilities. There are a handful of clubs in the open until 6am which are often popular with many younger tourists.

Puerto del Carmen - PDC

Ein ehemaliges Fischerdorf, liegt im Gebiet der Gemeinde Tías und ist der wichtigste und größte Touristenort der Kanareninsel Lanzarote.

An der Uferpromenade auf einer Länge von etwa acht Kilometern liegen viele Appartementanlagen und diverse Hotels entlang der ausgedehnten Strände Playa Blanca und Playa de los Pocillos, zusammengefasst unter dem Namen Playa Grande. In Richtung Arrecife schließt sich die Playa Matagorda an. Puerto del Carmen bietet Platz für etwa 30.000 Gäste. Hauptsächlich Deutsche und Briten, gefolgt von Skandinaviern und Spaniern bilden das Publikum.
Der Ort weist eine auf ganzer Länge durchgängige Hauptstruktur vom Strand bis zu den aufwärts gelegenen, nicht bebauten Ländereien auf. Die unterschiedlich breiten Sandstrände werden von der Strandstraße (Avenida de las Playas) begrenzt. An dieser Straße konzentriert sich das touristische Leben bei Tag und Nacht, sie ist gesäumt von Bars, Restaurants, Boutiquen, Fotoläden, Supermärkten und Spielhallen.
Oberhalb der Strandstraße schließen sich innerhalb eines maximal einen Kilometer breiten Streifens die Apartmentanlagen an. Häufig sind abgeschlossene Anlagen mit eigenem Swimmingpool und eigener Bar anzutreffen. Weiter ins Landesinnere ist Ödland zu finden. Es ist geprägt von Bauerwartungsland, Schuttruinen und landwirtschaftlichem Brachland.
Unterbrochen wird diese Struktur durch den alten Ortskern (Punta Tinosa) im Hafengebiet.

Regelmäßige Veranstaltungen
Jährlich im Mai findet hier seit 1992 der Ironman Lanzarote (Ironman Lanzarote Canarias) statt – eine Triathlon-Sportveranstaltung über die Ironman-Distanz (3,86 km Schwimmen, 180,2 km Radfahren und 42,195 km Laufen).

Puerto del Carmen - PDC

Is een moderne langgerekte badplaats aan de zuidkust van het Canarische eiland Lanzarote. Puerto del Carmen ligt ten zuidwesten van Arrecife en is de drukste badplaats van het eiland. Het oudste deel wordt gevormd door het gelijknamige vissersdorpje met hellende straatjes en een kleine haven met visserschepen. Langs de 7 km lange boulevard richting luchthaven zijn talloze hotels, restaurantjes en andere accommodaties.
Voor de kust ligt een kilometers lang rif, met veel mogelijkheden voor zowel beginnende als vergevorderde sportduikers.
