It is possible to catch a bus from town, park on Spetchly Road (however this may prove difficult during term time and office working hours), free parking is available at Worcester countryside centre (postcode WR5 2LG) gates open at 9 am and close at 5 pm.
This cache is a small rock, with only a log, so you will need your own pencil, close to where the bridle way cuts into the meadow, there is no reason to open the bridle way gate leading to the A4440 as this is a very busy road, this is the only gate leading down to the A4440, also the cache isn’t that way. It is best approached from Worcestershire countryside centre. If you are approaching from the Countryside Centre then there should be no reason to exit through either of the Bridle Way gates to retrieve this cache.
Due to the livestock in the meadow please, please ensure you close all the gates. In the Winter and in wet weather it is very advisable to wear Wellington boots as the approach to the cache can get very muddy
*** This cache has been placed with kind permission of Worcester Countryside Centre, when retrieving this cache please stick to the sides of the field(s) as this area is part of Hornhill Meadows which is a Local Nature Reserve and grazing is a vital part of ensuring that the wildlife value of these meadows is maintained for future generations. They are so valuable because they have been meadows since medieval times, and have escaped modern farming practices and fertilizers. There are also a rare breed of cattle called English Long Horn that graze in these meadows, it would be appreciated that while in these fields with dogs that they are kept under control, every time we have been through these fields we have never had any problems with the cattle and the fields are frequented by many dog walkers passing through on their travels as well. ***
