Geocache Description:

This mini series includes my favorite birds of the ACT! Please BYO pen. best to wear proper hiking shoes as the grass gets tall during the warm months.

Crimson Rosellas are very common in the ACT and are found in every kind of habitat. The adults are mostly crimson with patches of blue and black-fringed wings. the young have olive green backs and wings with a red breast. They can be seen in pairs, family parties or small flocks. Their voice a wide variety of whistling and chattering. All information provided by the "Field Guide to the Birds of the ACT" A must have for any ACT twitchers. I'd also recommend any recent editions of Simpson and Day Field Guide to the Birds of Australia, though its not as easy to carry around when you're in the bush!
