The event is sited in: -
Barnwood Park
I will be there between 10am and noon with rubbish bags.
Please bring your own suitable gloves, litter-pickers etc
The Park is loosely divided into three areas: -
1) The Park... an area of grass and trees with a stream running through and colonies of ducks, moorhens and squirrels
2) The balancing pond or "soakaway" . . . a large clear area of grass, perfect for ball-games in a dry season but beware puddles and soggy patches in any but almost drought conditions.
3) The Arboretum... not part of our rubbish-collection efforts but well worth a visit.
Children can run freely in these areas but will still need parental supervision.
The ducks appreciate food but copious amounts of white bread is not good for them. Wholemeal bread or grain is much better and won't encourage rats.
Bring a football if you wish but be prepared for muddy results.
Hopefully we will have good weather but April can bring anything from blizzards to heat-wave so come equipped according to weather-reports for the day.
The plan is to gather at 10am, collect some detritus to earn your log, enjoy the park and environs and perhaps a chat and then go about the rest of your day feeling the glow of good-citizenship, happy geocaching and a Souvenir well-earned.
Litter may be scarce (which is good really), so you might have to bring your own!!!!
Of course while you are here you could try our Whereigo - Barnwood Park/Tatty's Treasure" - (GC3EDRH), if you haven't already.
