Geocache Description:

Ashmount, New Ross, County Wexford.

This old rail bridge which spans the river Barrow is located upriver from New Ross town.

The track continued east from here where it joined with the Dublin/Wexford line near Enniscorthy. Services from there ceased in 1963, but the link onwards to Waterford continued until the mid 70's.

The area is dangerous. The slope to get up to the tracks is steep and has loose stones. Remember you do have to come back down this slope.

Parking is tight - there is a green gate near the cache site that you will need to get close to.

WARNING - To find the cache you do not need to access the bridge. Do not walk on the bridge. You do this at your own risk.
