Geocache Description:

If I need to hit 5k, and I don't think I'm stopping, a small mini cache machine is a good way to celebrate it. More over, this event will occur at noon here in the park with some pizza purchased by yours truly. For those who are interested, we'll also have a morning run of caches (see below).

A cache machine is a great Northwest tradition. Here http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=80d8b1f4-5f40-4e38-a274-95ce3fe8d492 is a list of past cache machines. Basically, we pile multiple cachers into the minimal amount of cars as possible. We start simultaneously around sun up (too early for our purposes) and drive for 12 hours criss-crossing some foreign town hours away from out home location. Maps are usually provided. After pillaging booty all day, we usually break bread at dinner at a local establishment. So here is our twist.
First, we'll start early morning, call it 8:30 am.
Second, we're going to limit this to DNFs in the -Cruces area. I know it is MY 5k, but I would like a list of about 3 caches from each cacher that has DNFed that pesky cache they just can't find. Or one that they DNFed and really want to find.
So I'll pile them all together, designate a route, and we'll tear around L.C. looking for those caches that have eluded us. Some will have found the cahces, but others will also likely have DNFed some on the list. Those that have found the cache can laugh, knee smack, roll  on the ground, or just give a hot/cold hint. All actions are acceptable. But the camaraderie and shared experience draws us closer as a community. And if it works out, who knows, maybe we'll put together a cache machine for Deming in the upcoming months.

AND NOW FOR THE ACTUAL EVENT- Around noon we'll meet back in the park, I'll bring a few pies of Papa John's finest, and we'll break bread. Hoping you can all join me.
