There used to be a cache in this area, but it's gone now. I'm recycling the location.
The cache name is a command given by the skipper of a submarine when engaging a target. The outer doors of the tubes need to be opened before torpedoes can be launched.
This is a quick and easy cache for you to torpedo a hole in your caching calendar, or simply to add to your total of caches sunk. It contains a log. and a BIG $10 prize for FTF. BYOP. No credit without your signature. Park in front of the cache and use your vehicle as a screen.
Commander Richard O'Kane, skipper of the USS Tang, was one of the USN's highest scoring submarine commanders. On Tang's last patrol, her last torpedo circled around and sank her. Commander O'Kane and eight of his crew survived to be captured by the Japanese. After the war, he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service in the Tang.
