Geocache Description:

This cache is in memory of Jack N. Johnson, my wife's grandfather.

Jack Nesbitt Johnson was a pillar of many communities, no matter how big or small they were.  Owner of Johnson's Feed and Seed Store for many years, a family man, a fisherman (one of several co-founders of the White Oak Fishing Club), co-founder of the city of White Oak, TX, a devout church member, and much much more.

He came into my life in 1998, as I had met and began dating his grand-daughter, Stephanie.  He was honest and caring, truthful to the end.  He gave to many charities and showed his life and love to his daughters and their children and grand-children along with those who loved them.  He had many wonderful stories of his days growing up, his college days at East Texas State, his days in the Navy, running the feed store, his family.  On 15 April 2000, he stood beside, all 6'5 of him and smiled as he issued a stern warning to me about taking care of his granddaughter on the day I married her and became part of his family..  I have heeded his words since.  In January 2002, he allowed me and Stephanie to move into the house he had built as a guest house and again, offered sage advice on the day before I left for Basic Training.  He expected me to come back, report properly as he was a former PO2 (Petty Officer Second Class) in the United States Navy, and give him the respect and honor a veteran deserved.  When I returned in July 2002, I did just that and every time I stepped back into his house, I gave him his report.

Jack cared deeply about community and family from the day of his arrival until his final days. Jack Nesbitt Johnson died 14 November 2011 at the age of 88.  Stephanie and I are back in his house that he had built in the late 40s and we are now taking care of a promise to his legacy alive and his home in family hands.

You are looking for an ammo box labeled with the cache name and GC Code on the outside.  It is on private property, specifically what his land and home.  With our love and memory, this cache is here to share in his gift of love for the community.  In his honor, it is my last present to him to share in his story and his world.  If there is problems with the cache, and if there is a Red Ford Escape nearby, leave a note on the Escape for the CO to find and I will or his grand-daughter will fix it quickly.

WARNING:  Parking is very limited at time of placing.  Please do not park in front of the brick house on the right of the cache or in the neighbor's yards.  You may have to park up the street along Highway 80 or across the street.  Best to come on foot along Lake Harris Road to GZ. Although available 24/7, strong recommendation is for daytime / early evening finds. Unactivated TB for First to Find!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO Calluna_Lonestar on FTF!!!

UPDATE (28 July 14) FINALLY RESTORED!!! Moved this cache to the front entrance of the property. If you see a red cachemobile, feel free to say hi. If you see only a brown one, let the muggle sleep!! You're now looking for a normal cache container..
2nd UPDATE (13 March 2017)Red cachemobile long gone...look for small unmarked Silver one. Also, during the upcoming weekend, code name theeoquex is visiting from the Liberty area and don't worry about the furry feline cache guards around...they love company, they just might run.
