Geocache Description:

At the site of this cache is a unique gem, La Cangreja Waterfall - a stunning waterfall that fills a blue lagoon and is surrounded by lush rainforest. Located in Rincon de la Vieja National Park, 40 minutes from Liberia. The entrance fee for foreigners is $10 and residents 1,000 colones. The park is open from 7am - 3pm, Tues - Sun.

This cache is challenging but well worth it for the prize you get at the end! From the entrance to the park, take the trail towards La Cangreja Waterall(catarata). The hike is 5km each way through shady rainforest and over dry hot grasslands. The terrain is difficult and uneven to traverse in some parts, and flat and easy in others. You should have at least a moderate fitness level to take on this cache. Plan on the whole journey to take you at least 4 hours including time to swim. Bring sunblock, insect repellent, running shoes or better, and don't forget your bathing suit! 

Once you reach the beautiful waterfall cascading into its blue lagoon, the cache is a bit of a walk over the rocks. Find the place in the rocks near the waterfall where a warm water spring runs into the cool lagoon and you are near the cache. The cache is a small yellow-transparent lock & lock container with room for small items and no pen so BYOP. Please note that coordinates may be slightly off due to poor signal in the area.
