Geocache Description:

Welcome to CCARS13!

The Calgary Cache And Release events are packed with "geocaching goodness". A series of events that are focused on creating and finding great new caches and meeting great old (and new) friends along the way.

The voting sheet is now available for download! Don't forget to keep a record of the cachers you ran into on the trails.

There are three main goals for the CCAR:

1. Make sure everyone has a great time! Whether you like hiding wonderful caches, finding them, or meeting other geocachers, there’s something fun for everyone.

2. Encourage geocachers like you to hide outstanding caches. We want more high-quality caches around Calgary for everyone to enjoy. Let’s show what we can accomplish when we unleash our creativity!

3. Provide an opportunity for geocachers to go on a 24-hour finding frenzy. If you prefer to spend only 24 minutes seeking caches, then that’s okay too. Whatever works for you! See Goal #1, above.

Location

As we had feedback about the size of the last venue getting too small, we have found a larger venue at the Inglewood Community Center.

Hiding caches

Plan ahead, because you must place your cache(s) and submit your finalized cache listing page(s) to the Volunteer Reviewer on or before May 16. With so many caches being released at once, the reviewer needs enough time to handle the huge workload. Please don’t make their tough job any harder. Submit your finalized cache listing pages for review on or before May 16!

Early bird prize!

Caches submitted for final review on or before May 9th (a week before the deadline) will be entered into our Early Bird Prize draw. Simply requesting a Location Check won’t get you into the pool; you must submit your cache listing page(s) for final review by May 9th to be eligible.

Start Time of the Wrap-Up event

We have decided to continue a start time for the wrap-up event of 2pm and have an Ice Cream Social. The event will be the usual handing out of prizes to the winners, the mishap stories and just getting together, just a little later.

Calgary Cache and Release Vehicle Flag

Flags

We have ordered new vehicle flags with the CCAR logo that can be purchased at any of the CCARS13 events for $5. Purchase of these flags goes towards funding future CCAR events.
