Translated 'Pomaika'i Honu' means 'Good Luck Turtle' in Hawai'ian. This cache was placed in conjunction with the event 'A Grande Adiós to Honu58' to wish our friend JJ safe travels before he is shipped off to Spain. After beginning his caching adventures in Hawai'i, he landed in southeastern Connecticut, enriching our caching community and becoming a great friend. Best of Luck, JJ. It'd be awesome if all the FTF Vultures would lay low and let JJ get the FTF. I'm looking at you, ConnArtist!!!
Placed in Paffard Woods. It's a short walk from parking. It's not meant to be a difficult hide. Honu will be guarding the cache. He is not the cache. Please do not walk off with him. *3/17/13* Bumped up the terrain rating. Walk is a bit longer (0.16), rocky and hilly than I remembered. Also GZ will tougher in the summer with the presence of briers, skunk cabbage and mud.
