this was the property of fred nickerson who owned all of the sandhills.he had a dance hall; canteen;picnic area; and swimming. it cost 10 cents for adults and 5 cents for children.their was a entrance gate and a exit..the dances cost more to get into..it was sold to the goverment in the 70's and the turned into what it is today with a new rd to the park..the big sand dumes used to be on the shore line but with the building of the causeway to cape island the sand dumes went inland and disappeared for ever
