Rock on Benny Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

The cache is a small cache just a few metres to the North of the cairn on top of Beinn-y-Phott. There is room for small coins only. There is a pencil and log book provided but you may need to have a tool / tweezers to extract the log book.

Beinn-y-Phott is a 1,785 ft / 544 m peak.

Beinn-y-Phott overlooks Hailwood's Height on the TT course where the Mountain Road joins the B10 heading in the direction of Druidale. Hailwood's Height was named in 1981 in honour of Mike Hailwood, a British Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, regarded by many as one of the greatest racers of all time.

On a sunny day there are fantastic 360 degree views from the top of Beinn-y-Phott. When the conditions are right Beinn-y-Phott is a popular hill with the Manx Paragliding Club. The ideal wind direction for flying this hill is between South East and due South, although at times the hill works reasonably well in an Easterly. Wind speeds need to be ideally between 10-15MPH to soar the hill and remain airbourne!
