Famous Shawnee Leaders of Ohio Series
A series of 7 caches hidden along the paved Millcreek-Greenway Trail. They honor notable Shawnee leaders that were active in the Ohio Valley region. The trail runs along the Mill Creek that the Shawnee called "Maketewah" which meant “it is black” due to the the dark rich soil that made up the bed of the creek which was once was rich in wildlife.

Little is known of his early life. He participated in the 1774 Battle of Point Pleasant. Although he signed land treaties, he never signed a removal treaty and died of natural causes in St Johns OH.
