Geocache Description:

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the most recognizable pieces of architecture in the World and attracts millions of visitors each year. This cache will take you to one of my favorite East Bay views of the
Bridge. All you have to do is complete this simple quiz on the Bridge's history.

Believe it or not, human life was factored into the cost of the bridge. It was estimated they would lose one man for every $1 million spent. They ended up losing less than a third of that projection. __ men perished constructing the Bridge. A = the first digit of that number minus the second digit.

The dream of spanning the Golden Gate Strait had been around for well over a century before the Golden Gate Bridge opened to traffic on May 28, 193B

Plans for the Golden Gate Bridge in the 1930s originally called for Fort ____'s removal, but Chief Engineer Joseph Strauss redesigned the bridge to save the Civil War era structure. The fort is situated directly below the southern approach to the bridge, underneath an arch that supports the roadway. C = the number of letters in the fort's name minus 1.

The bridge cost approximately $D5 million to build. It finished $1.3 million under budget.

The GGB was dedicated as a California Historical Landmark on June 18, 19E7

As part of U.S. Route FG1, the structure links the city of San Francisco, on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula, to Marin County.

The bridge is approximately 1.H miles across. At the time of completion, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world.

Please practice (ninja like) stealth at GZ as it is a Muggle heavy area. Especially on weekends.
