The year was 1999 and I just got my first computer. After unsuccessfully trying to convince my modem to dial long distance for a national ISP, I discovered that there was a local dial-up provider. This now-empty building used to be a gas station, convience/grocery store, video rental, and internet service provider. That's what I call old-fashioned, country ingenuity.
